Head of Content Distribution (Remote)

To strengthen our team, we are seeking an experienced Head of Content Distribution to build and develop our content acquisition and sales division.

Key Responsibilities:

Development and Implementation of Distribution Strategy:

  • Form a portfolio of rights for audiovisual content for subsequent monetization.
  • Evaluate and rank content based on its commercial potential.
  • Conduct market segmentation and identify priority sales channels for each content type (AVOD, SVOD, TVOD, YouTube).
  • Develop market entry plans for new regions (CIS, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe) and for engaging with new partner types.
  • Develop pricing strategies and licensing models (exclusive/non-exclusive licenses, terms, territories).

Content Acquisition:

  • Source, evaluate, and acquire rights for international feature films, series, and documentaries.
  • Negotiate and execute licensing agreements with rights holders in international markets.
  • Establish and maintain long-term partnerships with key market players.

Sales and Rights Monetization:

  • Sell acquired content to television channels, VOD, and OTT platforms.
  • Manage the rights portfolio: monitor license expiration dates, ensure contract compliance, and prevent rights conflicts.
  • Conduct analytics and reporting: analyze market trends, supply, and demand. Develop economic models and calculate deal profitability. Prepare regular reports for management.

Department Development:

  • Build and lead the distribution team.

We expect you to have:

  • 6+ years of proven experience in distribution, acquisition, or sales of rights for audiovisual content (film/TV industry).
  • In-depth knowledge of the international distribution market: key players (platforms, TV channels), their content needs, and acquisition models.
  • Comprehensive understanding of licensing rights (Free TV, Pay TV, VOD, SVOD, AVOD, electronic rights, etc.).
  • Proven experience in negotiation and execution of licensing agreements.
  • Fluency in English (from C1 level) for negotiations and work with international documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in international content acquisition/sales.
  • Understanding of pricing principles in the licensed content market.
  • An established network of contacts among rights holders and buyers.
  • Experience with content monetization on YouTube.
  • You are a proactive, results-driven, and communicative professional with strong negotiation skills and an analytical mindset.
